Sunday Evening in the Park

What a beautiful day in the park! The weather was absolutely perfect today so as soon as Evan got up from his nap we headed to the park. We inherited this backpack and today was its maiden voyage. Evan seemed to like it, but we think it's probably intended for someone more my size that Greg's. So, I'll get to be the "ride" next time we go. We (mostly Greg) have been working with Evan to help him learn how to stand up without having to use a prop - mom, dad, couch, wall, chair, etc. While we were walking around the park, Evan fell and we encouraged him to stand up on his own, and he did it! He couldn't quite get it on the uneven grass, but he tried every time. We saw this group of ducks crossing the pathway, so naturally Evan headed straight toward them. He isn't afraid of too much these days, so he just started after them. They weren't too worried either because they didn't move too fast, just fast enough. Evan almost caught up to one of them (you'll hear me laughing at that part). After he had chased them away and we started to walk back the other way, Evan turned around and headed back on his own. He wasn't too worried about having us around because he didn't even turn to look back until he was a good 20 yards away from us (and really only looked back because he fell down). He was determined to find those ducks. Fortunately we were able to distract him with snacks long enough to continue on our way.
