August 15 - Beach

Enjoying Grandma's homemade spaghetti!
Pucker up!!!
Yes, that is a fork in his hair. And another one of his funny faces!
Too silly!! He'll pretty much does these on command now! He struggles a little with the pucker sometimes because he can't help laughing along with everyone else!
Enjoying a Sunday evening at the beach. What a perfect day it was!
For the first little bit, Evan did not (and would not) want to put his feet down. He didn't like the feel of the cool, damp sand on his bare feet, and definitely did not like the wet sand that stuck to his feet or the frigid water. Just at first...
I just love this one...
Getting used to the water.
Once he adjusted to the feel of the sand and water, we couldn't keep him away from it. He loved the water and the waves. Here's a short clip...
This video really was just the beginning. We could not keep him out of the water. And, he kept wanting to go further and further in. By the end of it all, Evan was down to his diaper and t-shirt (which actually was a little wet, too), and I was wet up past my knees. He would head out in the water and then just stand there and watch the waves go in and out. I was amazed at how long he stayed in because the water was COLD. I think maybe he was just numb. And he really wasn't ready to get out. We rinsed him off and wrapped him in my sweatshirt to help him warm up a little. If this is any indication of things to come, we have a little fish!!
