Just Another Sunday in the Park

Summer has been pretty busy, so we haven't been able to go the park on Sunday afternoons like we were earlier in the year. Today we had a pretty quiet day, so decided to try the park out with "Evan's car" in tow. He had fun riding, but was easily distracted. The boy loves water, so can't resist any chance to play in it. Fortunately this spigot wasn't turned on. Although he did find a little bit of water in the dog bowl there on the side. Nice.
Once he figured it out (it's bumpy and has holes in it - it's supposed to be a fish bone), Evan liked walking back and forth over this bridge, but mostly I just think this is a cool picture. When did he get so big?
Today was Evan's first ride on a teeter totter. They definitely aren't like the ones we had growing up. Not so much up and down as just bouncing. Evan first discovered it when there was a little boy (13 months) old riding on it with the help of his mom and his dad was on the other side. Evan promptly walked up to the dad and kicked him off. It was pretty funny! They bounced on it together for a few minutes. I love how easily kids make friends, even at such a young age.
Evan loved walking back and forth through this circle with he calls something like "ceecee." I love his happy face in this one!
This weekend we officially graduated Evan to forward facing. At 12 months when we were going to turn him around, his pediatrician indicated that the AAP now recommends keeping babies/toddler rear-facing for as long as possible, but at least closer to two years old. We didn't quite make it to two. But, you would have thought that today was his birthday. He was so happy!
Just a couple of fun videos from today.
Evan had fun kicking his dad's bum...until he was "all done."

Evan struggled a little bit with the footholds, but loved having a wall to climb (not sure why this one turned out so small. sorry)...
