Poor Balloon

Yesterday, Evan brought a couple of balloons home from the birthday party. Today, he took the white one on our walk.
He had fun letting it go and blow along the grass and flowers. It took a lot longer to pop than I thought it would. It only popped when Evan set it right on top of some bushes that had just been trimmed so there were ends of branches exposed. He was devastated. He tried to go back home and get his blue one to bring out. We almost walked the whole way back before I convinced him that balloons should stay in the house. He was so sad that the white one popped.
Evan loves to pick flowers. He carries them forever. Or gives them to us to carry. Fortunately he's not too sad when we lose them.
Evan noticed the pool today. If I was a better mom and paid better attention to the weather forecast, I would have planned and taken him to an open pool today. This one was closed.
Evan was serious about getting in. He told me he would "fix it."
After we couldn't fix it, Evan tried the next best thing. Another door. Too bad the maintenance door was locked, too. Bummer.
Long walks make for long naps, or at least good ones. Today was a good one.
