Watercolors

Today was Evan's first experience with watercolors. It was fun, and I had to get past my aversion to mixed colors, and large amounts of water pooling on and around the paints. Motherhood is so good at helping us to overcome some silly, and some not so silly, preferences and issues. This was one of those times. And, truth be told, it still kind of gets me, but I keep it to myself.

Eventually, the colored water became the focus of the fun. He took the cup to the bathroom, poured out the old water, refilled the cup, and then brought it back to the table for one, yes one, quick swirl on a paint color (most often blue), a quick dip in the water to turn it a magic color, and then back to the bathroom to dump the magic water. In the midst of this process, we did practice some mixing of colors to make new ones. That quickly turned to brown water as he added every color. Lots of inside water fun today!
